Colombia – Week 1 Impressions

I can already tell that I am going to have a hard time journaling consistently. After being here for 6 days, my days feel full and my mind & body feel exhausted at the end of them. I have a feeling I will be using this website as more of a photo dump with some commentary sprinkled in.

We arrived in Medellin last Sunday and our first day at our Spanish school was Tuesday. Classes are 20 hours a week and I already love it! After 1 week I already feel my Spanish progressing significantly. We plan on staying at the school for 8 weeks, so I am looking forward to seeing how far I can get. That being said, we didn’t explore much or take many photos. Between school and homework it just flew by!

With the exhausting week and a national holiday this Monday (no school), we decided to take a bus south of the city into the coffee region for a relaxing weekend on a coffee farm. I am currently writing this from a hammock outside our bungalow with a hummingbird buzzing around the flowers next to me. I’ll save the weekend coffee farm excursion photos for my next post.

For now…week 1 in Medellin! I am admittedly not super proud of the quality of these photos, that was pretty far from my mind this week…but I have some beautiful shots from the weekend that I am excited to share!
